Xeomin® at Aesthetic Insights

What is Xeomin®?

Xeomin® is another brand name for a type of botulinum toxin. It’s used for both cosmetic and medical purposes. Xeomin® works by temporarily relaxing muscles when injected into specific areas. This helps reduce wrinkles and lines on the face, such as frown lines between the eyebrows.

One difference between Xeomin® and Botox is that Xeomin® is a “naked” toxin, meaning it lacks certain proteins that Botox has.

When will I see results?

Xeomin® starts working in as little as 2 days and takes full effect by 14 days. At 14 days if muscles are not fully relaxed you may need to come in for an evaluation to add some Xeomin®.

Does Xeomin® hurt?

Getting Xeomin® injections can cause some discomfort, but it’s usually tolerable for most people. The needle used is very small, so the discomfort is often described as minimal—like a quick pinch or sting. Afterward, you might have a little redness or swelling at the injection site, but this typically goes away quickly.

How long will Xeomin® last?

The effects of Xeomin® are temporary, typically lasting 3-4 months before the muscles gradually regain their normal function.

Will I look worse when Xeomin® wears off?

No, you won’t look worse after Xeomin® wears off. Xeomin® temporarily relaxes the muscles to reduce wrinkles or muscle spasms. When it wears off, those muscles gradually regain their normal function. Your appearance might return to how it was before you got Xeomin®, but it won’t make you look worse than you did originally. It’s a temporary treatment, so if you want to maintain the results, you will need to get Xeomin® injections again in the future.
