Dysport® at Aesthetic Insights

What is Dysport®?

Dysport® works by temporarily relaxing muscles. It’s made from a toxin produced by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. When injected into specific muscles, it blocks signals from nerves that tell those muscles to contract. This causes the muscles to relax, which can smooth out wrinkles or reduce muscle spasms. It’s commonly used for cosmetic purposes to reduce wrinkles, and also for medical conditions like TMJ or excessive sweating.

How long until I see results?

Dysport® starts working in 2 days and takes full effect by 14 days. At 14 days if there is a need for more relaxation you can return for an evaluation to add more Dysport® .

How long does Dysport® last?

The effects are temporary, typically lasting 3-4 months, after which the muscles gradually regain their normal function.

Does Dysport® hurt?

Getting Dysport® injections can cause some discomfort, but it’s usually tolerable for most people. The needle used is very tiny, so the discomfort is often described as minimal—like a quick pinch or sting. Overall, while it might be slightly uncomfortable during the procedure, people find the results worth it.

Will I look worse when Dysport® wears off?

No, you won’t look worse after Dysport® wears off. Dysport® temporarily relaxes the muscles to reduce wrinkles. When it wears off, those muscles gradually regain their normal function. Your appearance might return to how it was before you got Dysport®, but it won’t make you look worse than you did originally. It’s a temporary treatment, so if you want to maintain the results, you will need to get Dysport® injections again in the future.
